Organic Hojicha (LIMITED EDITION)
Grown at 600m in the finest tea growing region of Uji, Kyoto, this Organic Hojicha is a charcoal roasted Sencha green tea. The Sencha tea leaves are traditionally roasted quickly in a porcelain pot over a high heat in order to avoid burning the leaves and locking in a caramelized, sweet flavour.Hojicha was originally started in Kyoto in the 1920s by tea traders and has increased in popularity ever since. The flavours are very similar to that of a lightly roasted coffee but with a far lower tannic quality and a very low caffeine content. The roasting process burns off a lot of the caffeine which is why Hojicha is often enjoyed in the evenings.

This hojicha tea is so good! It's actually addictive. Since the tea is charcoal roasted it creates a very unique flavour. If you enjoy roasted green tea, this is a must try - it elevates your tea game! Whenever I make a tea latte at home with this tea, its as if I bought it from a cafe. After buying this I immediately had to purchase a couple more bags to make sure I always have it in my home! 10/10 would recommend.
This was my first time trying Organic Hojicha & I am so glad I did! This tea has a beautiful smoky taste & mixes perfectly with cashew milk (my milk of choice). I would also have to agree with the description that it does resemble a coffee in taste (& smell) so, if you're not a huge coffee fan, you might keep that in mind. However, if you are, I would highly recommend this tea!
